Compelling arguments. The other day I was watching Jeff's recent interview with Lex Friedman, on the practice of starting every meeting by reading a 6-page memo at Amazon. When asked for a justification of this methodology, he said something along the lines of: "You can hide bad thinking behind presentations & bullet points, but you can't hide bad thinking when you have to form whole sentences and paragraphs".
Ig that's why also filling out the YC application form helps out so much even if you don't ever end up submitting it, because it's hard to be hyped when you have to write a chain of paragraphs that make sense.
Writing clears away a lot of the emotions associated with thinking and paves the way for a clearer reflection process
