I'm not using neither nix nor those flatpak/distrobox/all-containers-distro things, but I tried both, and I really don't see a single argument why those would be a better approach than nix. It's so coherent and fast and lightweight, and seems like a much simpler approach for everybody involved (well, apart from the language which can be confusing for sys guys like me).

Everyone should read Eelco Dolstra’s paper IMHO.
