I'm surprised Apple (or Play?) allowed that. It must be a full time job keeping up with all the rules for what's allowed versus not with submitted apps
It has always been allowed because you're not sending a new package of your app to Apple or Google to review. The app is just a web view to your website and you're updating the website.
