Comment on Technology to stop drunk drivers could be coming to every new car in the nation

Comments

My daughter has this in her car after she got a DUI. This summer she had to have her car towed to their facility because it refused to let her start her car after getting gas. She had the option of paying to have it towed to them or having someone come out to fix their equipment at the rate of $250/hr. This type of thing has happened several times but usually they can fix it remotely. So, imagine your daughter coming out of work, someone in the parking lot making her nervous, her getting in her car and it won't start because their sensor is a POS.

Just like TSA pre screening, lawmakers, the rich, and the powerful will be able to buy their way past it as well.

If it is so critical to have in place, why not start with government issues vehicles first, like say police cars ambulances and fire trucks. Oh right they will of course be exempt for "reasons".
