Why would it matter if the IP block is simply being dropped?

But you have to get that far. It's so long ago since my last edit I can't remember my login details (that's if they'd be still valid).

This makes no sense - you can't log in if your IP is in the blacklist block ..

It's not a total IP block. They only block editing. Try it out yourself with a public VPN.

Yeah, perhaps. But frankly that's an impediment that I no longer have sufficient enthusiasm to overcome. :-)
