A ballsy person can be defined as such when you give them extremely low odds scenario and a decisive moment to make it or break it, and they face that moment with their head up high going against impossible odds.
But building a company is nothing like a decisive moment, not like kicking the decisive penalty kick in the World Cup Final, not like kicking the 50yd field goal into the wind to win the Super Bowl, given that we are speaking about extreme ballsy individuals it’s not like playing a round of Russian Roulette either.
It’s quite the opposite, a very boring and slow grind where there is no decisive moment and the whole process is very anti climatic.
So in a sense yeah you need some grit because you risk wasting your life away but it’s not what I’d define balls.
