One thing of pre-pandemic, is that people were already in the city center after work, so it was easy to go to a bar to talk about python, use some meeting rooms some company had for toasts or whatever. But now, most of the senior devs and engineers that organized these stuff moved to fully remote so there isn't a good easy to go place, so the effort to attend a meetup now is higher.
