I thought the discussion of Findhorn Foundation and "pockets of light" like monks in the "dark ages" was pretty interesting. There are current organizations dedicated to such long term thinking such as seed banks and the Long Now Foundation. The current Findhore seems to have gotten away from it's mission as described in MDWA
