This is just an ad...

Anyway, I like journaling. I don't see a reason to reduce it to an either/or activity. I use Obsidian and "jumble" my practical note taking with my introspective stuff. Plus it shows me upcoming birthdays, the daily weather, and a fun picture of a dog![1]

Jumble is free. Secure daily journaling will always be free. In the future we hope to introduce some premium features on top of the free tier. We could not continue to build and improve this product were it not for the generous donations from our users (donation link at the bottom of page).

it's definitely valid to mix the two; the article is just one way to categorise which is subjective; but it is a mental model I found helps to keep in mind for my own journaling practice
