Comment on ChatGPT: Using the Right Tool for the Right Job

Don’t use ChatGPT … for coding

Yeah, I mean, I'm not about to ask this thing to do all my job, not like it can anyway. I still feel somewhat relevant, you know.

But I've been using GPT-4 as a coding assistant/knowledgebase and it is just my best buddy, every time I forget about a specific syntax I just politely ask and boom! sure enough there's my answer...

Lately I've been asking ChatGPT to personify Kenny Powers and answer to my coding questions... the result is just too good... picrel

Nice! I wrote this about three weeks ago, so when ChatGPT 4 went live this week I tried out some of the same prompts I used while learning with 3.5. It was WAY better. More natural, but also a lot more comphensive and "thoughtful," if one can say that about an AI. The danger of writing on a subject that's constantly on the move is one's observations are likely to become irrelevant as soon as it's published. :D

This type of personalized learning where we can change the ‘voice’ of the instructor would really have helped me on some of my schooling as a kid.
