The PC version had higher resolution and more colors, so it made better source material to rewrite for AGA graphics. Everything from the old Amiga version that was lost in the PC port was re-added in this version, so it's more half-and-half.
Also, it's not actually a port, but a rewrite: "I rewrote the code from scratch attempting to recreate the original as close as possible just by playing the original (and by watching longplay videos). I didn't have any access to the original source code."
