Comment on Ask HN: Given AI advancements, is a master’s degree in CS worthless?

Comments

I have a MSCS from Georgia Tech (in-person, not online) that I got while working full-time. It's had zero impact on my career progression.

I started this MSCS (online version), passed 2 courses (out of 10) but an opportunity came up and decided to leave it.

Overall, I'd say it opened some doors (getting noticed more on LinkedIn). I was able to switch careers (coming from Telecom Engineering), went to work for a big company, and then for a startup.

I had a MS (Telecom Engineering) before getting into Georgia Tech so I don't feel like I'm missing that badge. Companies still care for credentials though.
