Comment on Ask HN: Why couldn’t Reddit replace Twitter?

Comments

It has a down vote button, so idiots don't get amplified, they get booted.

You mean alternative opinions don't get amplified, they get booted.

Reddit has a hive mind. It will not accept anything other than the "correct" opinion.

Reddit is probably the most correct (best) hive mind available. And is far more valuable than most places to search for resolution for problems that actually work. If someone is a regressive idiot, they should keep their mouth shut, just like they should in real life.

Reddit is not much different than Youtube comments or IG comments. Just because people are upvoted a lot for being "politically correct" doesn't mean that they are correct.
