This is really cool. One thing I'll add is to make an easy fallback for people to type in the password (for example, if they can't scan the QR code or plug in), you could generate a word phrase, like "correct battery horse staple" which would be the same value as the QR code and have the same entropy as a really strong and long password.
You could then display this phrase below the QR code. No special characters to type! And easy enough to read or yell out across the room.
