You’re in a good place if you enjoy this kind of work. As far as book recommendations go, it probably depends on where you see yourself going. Would it be more technical work, sales, product, business, management, entrepreneurship, or something else? Like you said, in your role you get exposed to a lot. In my own experience it was a transition to product.
You can certainly continue in your existing role, of course. It doesn’t have to be a transition. But it’s a generalist type of job, and it feels like one discipline ultimately wins out in the end.
Would this role be good to transition to engineering management in the future? I find the role much less technical than I thought. It's a lot of coordination with stakeholders to ensure we are building something they want. Letting go of my technical mindset has been the greatest challenge for me since I worry I will not be hireable.
