Comment on Red Grapefruit Appears to Lower Cholesterol, Fight Heart Diseaseparent

Comments

Grapefruit stops your body from metabolizing statins. This can lead to a toxic buildup of statins. CBDs can also have this side effect.

I’m not a doctor, but it seems like you’d need to have a lot of grapefruit in your system over an extended period of time to make this a problem.

I am also not a doctor but I believe this problem may eventuate with remarkably small amounts of grapefruit, like one. If you ate one at breakfast, had no other food in the stomach and had just had your meds, this might be a problem.

I’m on a statin. There’s a big warning on it. No grapefruit.
