I disagree - in economic terms the information asymmetry is hardest where there is less competition. You have companies paying 100k and 600k for same-roles in the industry.

But alas making it mandatory is not the way to go.

Hard disagree. Environmental and consumer protection regulations are highly important and would not be followed because they cut into profit.

Are you willing to pick up a gun to find out what a company is paying for a job? I'd sure like to see that!
