A fungus isn't a plant so its not comparable but I think a fungal network underground will likely end up being the largest organism on the planet if we ever care to go looking for it. We often forget fungus when we make mono-culture environments especially forests but they are critical at passing about nutrients for all the vegetation and I suspect we may find some pretty massive ones in the world.
