What would the book authors think about Kubernetes?

Probably:

Unix leaps from being an ordinary virus to one capable of managing hordes of itself as a unit, permanently ensuring it's existence on multitudes of hosts. Nothing is safe now. The twilight for humanity is near, for at some point all humans will be replaced entirely with Unix.
