Thank you for your reply, it does fit with allergens as you say (reduced immune system helped so we dont think viral or bacterial). I'll take a look at the auto immune tests - we do have a good university nearby so may be in luck :)

As for the fungal issues with Covid, I recall that was because people took massive doses of steroids depressing their immune systems, so I don't think that's the cause here.
