I recommend trying to befriend some of the graduate students at your field. Maybe try to get involved with research with your professors. In my experience those who go for a PhD tend to be from a wider variety of backgrounds, and more intellectually curious.

I’m sure you can find these sorts of people in the regular student body as well, but they may be harder to find!
