Comment on Ask HN: Why doesn't DuckDuckGo launch a desktop browser?

Comments

I tried DDG's Android 'browser' (to be kind with my wording) and was underwhelmed. It repeatedly assured me that it was doing scades of things to protect me ... I couldn't see them. When I saw a Facebook icon on a page (whoops) and 'touched it', I visited Facebook's login page. When I looked for a way to block websites, I found none. Uninstalled before I got further.

A desktop version have to be a lot more sophisticated.

The android browser has also had numerous security issues. Some of which are still "wontfix" today.
