My colleague Mulugeta Ayalew Tamiru has done research on a much cooler federated Kubernetes setup than what KubeFed gives you. It scales horizontally (Pods and Clusters), it does cross-cluster networking, and has network latency-aware scheduling. Simply amazing stuff. :)
