I didn’t really understand the second paragraph either. As for the first paragraph, I think a lot of the entitlement is getting all of us a better situation. Better pay, better work, better WLB, etc.
It almost feels like the entitlement Americans had in the 50s. Everyone gets a house, everyone gets to goto college, the middle class is real and everyone will be paid. It lasted long enough until industry pulled the rug out from under and globalized the jobs.
We need the entitlement because we really don’t know how long it’s going to last. Market forces simply will not accept high salaries and employee-input forever.
I don’t know what the end game will look like, but we better enjoy it while it lasts. Our version of ‘ship that whole car plant to Mexico’ has yet to come, but it’s coming.
