I've been going back and forth between tiling WMs on Linux, and using this on Windows, and I 100% think this is the better approach. You set the minimum grid size, and then using your mouse you drag windows over grid boxes until it's set up how you want.
This is, IMO, better than a tiling WM as you don't have to mess about with resizing windows or changing the way the layouts are stacked. Just put the windows where you want them, and move them when you want them.
