Comment on Texas is open 100%, mask mandate ended

Comments

Too often I see white collar workers with the privilege of working cushy jobs from home sell blue collar workers and small businesses down the river by advocating for harsh shutdowns that destroy jobs, lives and businesses.

It's easy to say that everyone should be locked down from the ivory tower of the software industry. That doesn't help the 32,000 laid off Disneyland employees who now can't pay rent, buy food or provide for themselves.

The same governments responsible for destroying those people and businesses offer zero compensation.

Additionally, it's sad to see depression, worsening diet and obesity and suicides totally ignored whenever these decisions are made. It's evil.

In California, youth mental health hospitalizations have skyrocketed. [1] According to government, this doesn't even register as a consideration when instituting lockdowns.

Lockdowns are worsening wealth inquality at a truly grand scale. The Fed prints cash like never before and funnels it straight to banks, which lend money to prop up asset prices for the wealthy to benefit almost exclusively.

How does any of this relate to lifting the mask mandate?

Hint: it doesn't.

Seems more likely (IMO) that he simply wanted to divert attention away from the miserable grid failures in his state.

The OP is about lifting the mask mandate and reopening the state. Your comment doesn't make any sense.
