Oh really, what was it that he was building in 2002, and how did that work out?

He was building circles around other languages. It worked great. All circles were nice, neat, perfectly round like Lisp parenthesis and inside those circles other developers using unenlightened languages were getting actual work someone cared about done.

He seems to have made the typical armchair general mistake of assuming strategy can defeat logistics.
