Gmail arrived in a field where having 10 or 50MB was considered normal and it disrupted that by letting people not having to care about mail storage. It rendered email weightless to most. Hotmail & Co. were stagnant, they thought that webmail was a solved problem and Gmail blew their little world.

Facebook is moving, it isn't resting thinking "Work's done."
