A long time ago, I used to use intentionally-obscene or otherwise offensive text and images for placeholders, lorem ipsum text, variable names, etc., on the theory that this would prevent that content from ever shipping.
It only took one violation for this theory to be discarded. Luckily, the recipient was fairly cool :)
