Comment on Ask HN: Deaf wannabe entrepreneur faces networking issues. How to work with it?

Comments

I'm not deaf. I have a different handicap. (I have a compromised immune system and get ill from spending time in group situations.) I have spent time looking at examples of other people who made money via the web. I think if you want to make it as an entrepreneur, you can. You just have to be realistic about what your limitations are and work with it. "Realistic" doesn't mean to me that you just can't do something. It means to me that sometimes you can do it, you just have to do it your way.

For me, my handicap is something of a "test" for other people: A lot of people don't understand and won't accommodate. They get discarded fast. I have come to view this as a kind of time saver. :-)

Good luck.
