We were having to remediate our system, and to increase the rigor of our procedures. The result was that my job became 90% paperwork. For a software engineer, that's a horrible existence. I put up with it for three years, and finally left.
Note well: I'm not saying the FDA was wrong. The steps they took were probably needed. I just didn't like working in the resulting environment.
