Does anyone here know of any rumors of what these changes could be?

Its exciting to see the Arduino project and community grow. But, personally I'm going to buy a Netduino soon. (http://netduino.com)

.NET? Why not embedded linux?

I may be missing something here, but aren't you comparing a programming language with an OS?

Looking at the features provided by embedded .NET, it would seem like there must be some sort of embedded OS bundled with it.

I think the idea is that with linux comes many other languages.

I think he was listing guesses.

And before you try to apply your logic to them, remember- they are rumors. Rumors defy logic.

If you like programming in C#, the prospect of a microcontroller that can run C# is attractive. It'd be pretty spiffy to have a similarly priced/specced device for Java, especially if the API stack was based on a standard like J2ME's CLDC.
