And even if it weren't faster, it's more comfortable. As someone who spends the vast majority of his waking hours behind a screen, I can tell the difference between two days that involved a lot of mousing around and two days typing (I usually get to type most, but there are projects where I can't). I can only imagine what it must feel like if you have to use a web interface to move between pages all the time.
