4. Why is it this way? My understanding, and I could be mistaken, of the EIR role is that it's someone who works at startups while sponsored and mentored by the VC firm. I would be excellent in such a position, not now (and possibly never) as an EIR-to-CEO, but as an EIR-to-senior developer (if such a thing exists).
