(http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596517748) I found it super handy mostly because he made no claims that JS is the best thing ever. A lot of it sucks and he admits that. Which I found super refreshing from the standard "ZOMG X IS TEH BEST EVAR! USE X AND GOLD COINS WILL FALL FROM THE SKY!" of most programming language books.
