Oh, great, so it still happens? I really found the "obsolete" status on the issue rather strange, but (as I'm not using Android anymore) it was really just a suspicion.
If it happens to you, maybe you could create a new issue on the tracker, stating that 1109 isn't really obsolete - it still happens.

I use the android alarm clock and it goes off every day for me - I'm not sure you can say "Slept through alarm" means that the alarm didn't go off :)
Yes, I deliberately left that option open because I can't be sure myself :)
Also, my phone's still on Android 4.2 so it could have been fixed since then.
