WHY?????

My first thought was retrogaming. It would be really cool to be able to load all of the old games onto a new big hard drive and play them on a computer that doesn't require anything special to make the game playable.

I'm sure there are other use cases as well but this is what occurred to me.

Did you and parent poster not see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10032621 ? It comes into play there.
