Very interesting lecture by Todd C. Mowry professor at Carnegie Mellon University recorded at Stanford University.

The lecture gives you an excellent introduction to the research field Self-Reconfiguring Modular Robot and the current state of art in the field. The main focus is on CMU's Claytronics version and on telepresence that they call Pario.

There is also an excellent introduction to the basic problems and challenges in the area as well as reports on the progress CMU have made.
