ASK HN: SAAS Update Feed

I am trying to find a SAAS feed for building out the conversation and updates feed on a new product. Ideally something in the vein of google+ update UX. I am aware of many of the social API's for the big networks and the frameworks API's but find most to try and take on so much of the social stuff (do not need profiles, groups, pages, etc). Thought maybe a startup has/was taking this on.
