Ask HN: What sampling rate(s) does HTML5 audio support?

I am mostly concerned with the case of an MP3 audio stream on Chrome but also interested in other format/browser combinations. I cannot find an authoritative source that has this data and I have been observing some weird behavior with rates that are not 44.1 Khz
