Ask HN: When, if ever, will online development environments become dominant?

There are currently a lot of players and a lot of money in this space. Cloud9, Koding, and Nitrous.io just to mention a few. It seems that the advantages of an online environment (easier setup, easier collaboration, better production parity) are not enough for users to give up their favorite editors running on their local machines. What's keeping you from coding online?
