The article doesn’t state what driving the discrepancy between control tests and real world driving - for example is it that more people than anticipated drive for longer or end up depleting the battery and spend more time burning gasoline than anticipated?

The underlying reason behind discrepancies key and also is this discrepancy present in other types of vehicles
