Video by Farya Faraji, a Canadian-Iranian musicologist, documentary filmmaker and public educator dedicated to fostering a deeper appreciation for the authentic traditional sounds of the world’s musical cultures.

By putting the music in their larger historic context the author manages to convincingly deconstruct the illusionary borders between eastern and western culture.

Something I stumbled on while looking for why Odyysey recitals[0] which keep popping up recently sound "Sanskritty" The video style is quite ranty, and shows some clear frustration. But I did find my existing views challenged and found it interesting.

You probably meant Homeric in general, not the Odyssey

My guess would be it's relationship to turkiye and the ottoman empire
