While Im not a "believer", though I would really love it if at least a tiny bit of anything would be true with a small fractions of the stories. But Im losing faith - there has been basicly no "progress" on the frontiers in this field for the last ..decades? (Whatever "progress" may mean for which party in these scenarios)
It would be so cool if one day I read the press and see "Aliens proven! Landed on White House garden" or similar :-)
(But I suspect if any of all will make first contact, Id guess it will be China or India in the long run?)
