AI isn't the end goal. (my weird view)

I know. Everyone is so hyped about AI but recently I discovered something so simple but saw almost nobody talking about it: End goal of AI.

My view says it's faster automation! But after the automation has been perfected by AI & humans, AI job drops to less than %5 in a lot of cases if not zero.

For example, to manufacture something, you need the knowledge and processes. Next AI can help you find that knowledge faster, develop the processes faster. But after you have the docs and machines for every step, what do you need AI for?

This is the mainstream of the next few years.

Funny enough, humans are worrying about their jobs taken by AI, and this means AI would lose its job.

Is it really early to think about this? What do you think?
