Sweet, more justification for not having capitulated to Youtube Premium: You still get sponsorship ads that are part of the uploaded video.

Same as Prime Video went from no ads to "pay more for no ads" (this annoys me slightly less since Prime Video is included in the free delivery dealio - don't get me wrong, I'd rather not use Amazon at all, but none of those arguments about Amazon work on the better half - nothing will work until she gets burned herself).

Vanced + Brave works nicely for the time being. Although I still try to avoid any dependence upon Youtube for life in general.

The do make it easy to skip past the ad embedded in the video.

On Android TV, you can use https://smarttubeapp.github.io/ to get rid of ad without giving google money.

Money does go to the creators though, so Hank Green is getting money from my YouTube premium subscription and with your way he's not.

yes, and i do not give a single fuck about that.

It's been a while since I last used YouTube Premium. But don't you get a small white indicator for "promotions" on the video bar? I thought this was a YouTube premium thing?

HBO next! you pay for "Ad free" but then get bombarded with ads for their own shows and mobile slop games.

Apple TV has entered the room.

There's zealous representation of your client, and then there's whatever this bullshit is. The predeliction for defining away problems is a social sickness.
