I don't and never have used twitter/X so perhaps my view is skewed. But unless this is software running on my machine it being open sourced doesn't really give any insight into what is running on the server.
To be clear: they didn't just publish their internal repo, this is a single commit github repo and I doubt active development will be done here.
Can someone who understands more than me tell me I'm wrong and this is anything but a publicity stunt?
