It depends on the expected application context.

It is easy to do "dangerous things" in C because the expected contexts benefit from easy access to low level operations without the cognitive and computational overhead that high factors of safety would require.

All design is a matter of tradeoffs and programming language design is a matter of engineering tradeoffs in particular.

Designs capable of launching-the-missiles are entirely appropriate for missile launching systems.
