The subtitle calls out one of the most-wretched and most-repeated truisms in modern medicine:

For decades, the condition was thought to be psychological, and women were shamed for their illness. Now a scientist has found a biological cause.

IF a female patient's health concerns map to a medically recognized physical malady, AND doctors have a physical cure available for that malady, THEN her concerns are considered legit and needing treatment. Otherwise? She's just another stupid female, and problem is some combination of "all in her head" and "all her fault".
