Because software producers don't have to give a shit if their product actually works or solves a problem? Programmers moved fast, broke things, but didn't fix anything they broke.

TBH neither healthcare does.

They're not anywhere close to how bad the software business is.

Because if healthcare makes a big mistake, they cannot ship a hotfix update to bring a person back to life?

Does it, though ? If healtcare was reinventing the wheel and adding layers of abstraction as SW does, we will all be at the hospital waiting for "bug fixes and performance inprovements".
